Meet Siri Adler, AKA Lady Sif

You get the point. Sif is a member of an advanced race of beings called Asgardians who were once worshipped as the Norse gods. She is the Norse Goddess of War and close friend of Thor Odinson.
Six hundred years ago, Sif fought against Lorelei when Lorelei mounted an attack on Asgard. During the attack, Lorelei enthralled Haldor, a man that Sif loved, before Sif defeated and captured her.
After Sif, Thor and the Warriors Three incited a battle with several Jotuns, they nearly began a war between the the two races. Odin, deeply disappointed in Thor as the one most responsible, stripped him of his powers and exiled him to Earth. With Thor absent, Sif and the Warriors Three were faced with a dilemma when Loki turned his attention to wresting the throne from Odin, so they journeyed to Midgard (Earth) to find Thor. When their search led them to a small New Mexico town where Thor was staying with Jane Foster, Loki sent the Destroyer after them. While Thor was powerless to battle the construct, the Warriors Three and Sif quickly engaged it, Sif leaping from a building's roof to impale the Destroyer through the back of the neck and chest, causing its apparent destruction. The Destroyer's immobility proved to be only momentary, as it revived to hurl Sif bodily away. Sif returned to Asgard with Thor and the others after he had dealt with the Destroyer personally.
Following the restoration of the Bifrost, Sif served as a leader of the Asgardian forces working to restore peace to the Nine Realms. Despite Odin noting that she would make a worthy queen, Thor nevertheless remained loyal to his feelings for Jane Foster, with Sif bearing no apparent grudge as she assisted Thor in breaking Loki out of prison to pursue the Dark Elves. Sif's whereabouts during the Convergence are unknown, but after Thor had defeated Malekith, and with the Aether now in Asgardian custody, she was tasked to deliver it to the Collector.
When Lorelei escaped her prison during the Dark Elf invasion and fled to Earth, Sif pursued her, subsequently allying with S.H.I.E.L.D. and the resurrected Agent Coulson to stop Lorelei's efforts to assemble a new army.
A year later, Heimdall detected the arrival of a Kree on Earth, so Odin (presumably a disguised Loki) sent Sif back to Earth to apprehend this newcomer. The next day, Sif took a brainwashed Vin-Tak (who was mind-wiped to protect Skye) back to Asgard so he could be sent home.
Now Lady Sif is Siri Adler.

Siri and her twin brother Ben were born to a broken home. At least, that’s what the social workers called it behind their backs. Their mother ran off when they were young, their father was barely worthy of the name, and the grandmother who got stuck with raising them didn’t have much patience for any of their fuckery.
And considering how prone Ben was to acting out even at a young age—and considering the trouble Siri would get into to defend him—there was a lot of fuckery going on.
So Grandma passed them off to a relative the first chance she got. Who passed them off. Who passed them off. Ben and Siri moved through a series of homes, some better than others. Ben was always too smart and too weird for his own good. It wasn’t until they were staying with one of their distant uncles that it turned out he was too pretty for his own good too.
What’s a kid and his twin sister to do when Uncle Creepy gets a little grabby when no one was looking? Why, set him up, of course. Ben played the bait, and they collected (and fabricated, where needed) enough evidence to send him off to jail for life. It also had the side benefit of finally catching the attention of the system. Ben was diagnosed neuro-atypical and put on medication that helps even him out. They were put in the foster system—together, because everyone who tried to split them up quickly learned their lesson.
Now they’re with a Leave It to Beaver creepy-nice kind of family who do not know how to cope with Ben and Siri.
On her own, Siri seems pretty normal. She's capable and outgoing and makes friends fairly easily (probably from long practice at having to move from place to place). Accidentally push one of her buttons or trip over one of her triggers, however, and she totally enters fight-or-flight mode. 90% of the time, she chooses fight. She will dive into fights, heedless of her own safety, if she thinks Ben is even remotely at risk. Siri's gotten into fights for other people, too, and has a couple of little ducklings that tend to follow her around and use her for protection, which kind of weirds her out. She hates bullies, doesn't trust authority (or just about anyone that isn't her brother), likes full-contact sports, and loves Ben.
